I covered three pieces of a straw with text paper and painted them silver along with the corrugated. Once dry, I dripped green patina eco friendly paint over the corrugated. I singed a piece of light green organza and using wire I sewed the friendly plastic piece to it. These are the leftover pieces from the key ring and brooch projects. Using silicone glue I attached the organza and friendly plastic and the painted straws to the background. I added a piece of string to hang.

I've been reading your blog for a few months now and I really love your finds.
I'm writing because I think my work would interest your readers. Here's a link to my favorite item. http://www.etsy.com/listing/51508191/art-necklace.
I started making my art ornaments and necklaces when my mural business slowed down. I play around with friendly plastic, prints of my original paintings, wire, beads, gold leaf and even paint on the friendly plastic. I get lots of compliments when I wear my necklaces! I am having so much fun with this that I signed up for 2 craft shows in the fall and I have an etsy store.
Thanks for your blog and for supporting independent artist like me!

Mariah and I have spent the week on the Mexican Riviera...and this piece captures the beautiful jewel like colors of the ocean. The flow makes me think of waves crashing on the beach. A brilliantly designed piece by Karine Collignon, a Friendly Plastic artist in France.

This is an amazing mix of multi-media and friendly plastic. The colors just pop! I know the picture is a little blurry, but you can see the full size picture by visiting her flickr site!
Today's inspiration comes from the other Friendly Plastic Queens - Jen and Jana.
Jen will always find ways to incorporate unique objects into her work. Below she uses some scrapbooking charms with ribbon mesh wire.
Enjoy the eye candy!
Just inked up a pice of white Friendly plastic, cut a circle, popped into an old K&Company finding, dropped a bling into it and covered it with Glossy Accents....then strung it with just a few simple beads:
and a scrap of Fracture n Fusion cut and popped into another K&Company finding. Maybe an hour tops? But just too cute for the office or just for fun!
And here's one for formal nights. Used Linda's latest technique - Glisten and Glimmer in a Nunn Design finding..... Jana Ewy shares some of her past and present pieces:...
This snow bunny was created for my sister many years ago.Thought you might enjoy seeing a little design from my past.
Tear-drop shaped pieces of Friendly Plastic have been attached to a beautiful brass filigree Butterfly. It is simple, yet elegant and can become a necklace, bracelet, or even a brooch.
Let your creative flow... try this same concept with marbled Friendly Plastic, or inlay pieces one on top of the other. How about making an impression into the plastic and creating a Friendly Plastic filigree Butterfly? Hope this has helped to get your creative wheels turning.
