Another email I would like to share today:

Dear Linda Peterson,

I've been reading your blog for a few months now and I really love your finds.

I'm writing because I think my work would interest your readers.  Here's a link to my favorite item.  http://www.etsy.com/listing/51508191/art-necklace.
I started making my art ornaments and necklaces when my mural business slowed down.  I play around with friendly plastic, prints of my original paintings, wire, beads, gold leaf and even paint on the friendly plastic.  I get lots of compliments when I wear my necklaces!  I am having so much fun with this that I signed up for 2 craft shows in the fall and I have an etsy store.
Thanks for your blog and for supporting independent artist like me!

Friendly Plastic Hummingbird by Phyll Beach

Thursday, September 9th, 2010
Sharing a recent email I received from Phyll Beach.  Beautiful work!

Linda, I'm doing a multi media piece in a collaborative effort with another artist that requires that I illustrate a Haiku poem she has written. (She will illustrate one of mine.) As soon as I realized it had to include a hummingbird, I knew the only possible way to capture their iridescence was to use Friendly Plastic. I was very happy with the resulting colors, it is a much more exciting illusion than a photo can capture. I did the flower while I was at it, but I am not sure it will be part of this art piece it did, however, make me absolutely positive that soon I am going to attempt an entire 5x7 size work, which when finished will be one solid FP piece. A complete mosaic scene, I am eager to attempt it. In the meantime my hummer will be perfect in my current project....Phyll Beach

So...what will be YOUR Friendly Plastic challenge??

Email your photos and I'll highlight you on the blog!  Thank you Phyll for sharing!

Friendly Plastic Strips go to Iceland where Klara makes Beautiful Friendly Plastic Jewelry

Sunday, August 22nd, 2010
That's right...Friendly Plastic has made it's way to Iceland - How cool is that?

I've been corresponding with a lady who has watched our Friendly Plastic segments on Cool2Craft and followed this blog.  Although she had never tried Friendly Plastic she was inspired to give it a whirl!  So she contacted me and asked where to buy Friendly Plastic.  I was able to hook her up.

She just emailed that she received her package and look what she's already made using Friendly Plastic strips - Beautiful Friendly Plastic jewelry!

Klara was kind enough to upload these to Facebook where she tagged me to see.  I think this is awesome!!! Wow!  THANK YOU Klara!

CrafTECH University offers an on-demand class on how to use Friendly Plastic in a class called "Fusion Illusion". It's an excellent overview of all the basics you will need to create Friendly Plastic jewelry too.
