In the past we've worked alot on 2-dimensional designs which primarily focused on layering or putting a variety of mediums on top of the Friendly Plastic to alter the look of it in some way. In this video, we take that a step further.
I love the look of stretching and crackling the Friendly Plastic, but often this results in the colors of the foil dulling when the black background pulls up through. To solve this and to add a decorative, somewhat watercolor wash effect, I tried nail polishes. The results are beautiful and the polishes fix the foil so that the colors remain bright. Add a touch of decorative foil and you've created one of a kind - gorgeous pendants - in any color...and my I add that you can make these in 30 minutes or less?? Great HUH?
If you've been working with Friendly Plastic for a while, you've probably accumulated quite a lot of bits and pieces. The good news is there is NO WASTE in Friendly Plastic. This video gives you a quick creative idea on how to utilize those tiny bits and pieces. Enjoy!
Marbles can be purchased in the floral department of most major craft stores.

How many times are you deep into a project only to realize you dont have the charm or embellishment you want...or you have them but....not enough?
I've helped to solve that problem by making molds of those embellishments that I want to use over and over again. It takes only a few minutes to re-create the look of aged copper using my Friendly Plastic scraps.
Hope you enjoy this brand new episode!
I use Rangers Mold N Pour to create my molds. I have featured Krafty Lady molds in this episode too. You can get more information about Krafty Lady by visiting their website at www.kraftylady.com or visiting their US distributor at: www.aftermidnightstamps.com

Thanks Jen for sharing with us!
I really do have the most wonderful hardware store in the world! McGuckins. It's in Boulder, Colorado. You can spend days inside this store. Not to mention when they put up the giant tent and have a sidewalk sale!
And....they carry Friendly Plastic pellets. Now, why on earth would a hardware store sell pellets? Well, take a look at my video and you will see!
I showed this to Kerry, who has been playing with micro electronics this week. He proceeded to melt some pellets and form a ball on top of some mini lights. When he plugs it into his circuit board, the plastic ball lights up! LOL!
When he gets it "perfected" - I'll video that. But you know guys - do they ever get anything "perfect"? I imagine he will be playing with pellets for some time to come. I may have to put them under lock and key!!!
This is a brand new technique that I've never shown except at the Starving Artist Retreat in Colorado. Just a word of caution, do not use regular oil paints as it produces quite a awful smell when placed on the griddle. Genesis Paints are available thru AMACO - just email your questions by clicking here and they will hook you up.
Be sure to check out my etsy site too for more Friendly Plastic one of a kind jewelry! Makes great gifts too!

This is the second video in the Heating Method series by Liz Welch. These two videos are a MUST SEE if you have never worked with Friendly Plastic. Heating to the appropriate temperature and getting used to the differences in softening the plastic is crucial. After you learn that...well...then its a piece of cake.
